Looking for unique honeymoon destinations? Cosy Tents located in the Hepburn Shire provides guests with a stylish and luxurious outdoor camping experience perfect for romantic getaways and newlywed couples. We were able to get in touch with the owners Jarek and Eva to ask a few questions about their vision and aspirations for their romantic outdoor accommodation. Such honeymoon destinations are great for those nature loving couples!
What was your vision for Cosy Tents?
Our vision was to create a unique experience that brings together the outdoors with the little luxuries and creature comforts of home. We didn’t want to lose the real elements of camping, like the smell of the fresh air, the sounds of birds calling, watching stars and just being out in nature, but at the end of the day we still wanted to have a good nights rest and have a cosy bed to tuck into.
Our mission is to get our guests to “fall in love with the outdoors again”. As kids, most of us have many fond memories of going camping with friends and family, but as we get older we find that we tend to fall into our busy lifestyles and just don’t have the time to enjoy the outdoors as much. So we wanted to create an easy way for people to enjoy the outdoors and experience camping again without forgoing the little luxuries in life. Like the warmth of our beds, a hot shower and a fresh cup of coffee first thing in the morning! We also wanted to take the hassle out of camping, so you can spend more time enjoying yourself.
What inspired you to create this style of accommodation?
It really all started with our own experiences. We were camping on the Murray in Echuca and had a wonderful time. As we were sitting in our two man tent enjoying the sounds of nature we thought to ourselves how nice it would be to have a hot shower and a comfy real bed and still be able to experience this.
What designers or themes inspired you for the tent decor?
We were initially inspired when we first stepped into a canvas bell tent. There was something romantic about them. They have this honey glow when you stand inside one, it must be the way the sun’s rays light up the tent. Every element we used to decorate the tents had to work well with the canvas and we looked for natural colours and fibres. For example we use raw hessian floors and old wood crates with added accents of white and stoney grey decor. We look for furniture that’s rustic and natural and love the look of raw wood against the canvas backdrop.
What can guests look forward to when planning a night or two at Cosy Tents?
The first thing is that they get to experience camping. We want our guests to enjoy the outdoors. We have a great communal fire pit for roasting marshmallows and meeting other guests or for some adventurous campfire cooking. And keeping with nature, our outdoor shower – there’s something spectacular about being able to shower under the stars. We also have a fully equipped outdoor BBQ kitchen area and provide all the cooking utensils and cutlery so our guests don’t have to worry about packing all the bulky items.
The tents are very inviting, when guests first walk-in they will notice the large real bed positioned in the centre of the tent (queen size in our 5m tents and double size in our 4m tent). The tents are fitted with most hotel room amenities, including: 1200 thread count linen, goose down quilt and pillows, towels and robes, a selection of teas and coffee and even a bluetooth speaker to play their favourite tunes. Our larger 5m tents are also fitted with wood fire stoves for heating during the colder winter months.
What are your long term aspirations for Cosy Tents?
We want Cosy Tents to be known as the place to go when you want to go camping with a little bit of luxury. We aspire to have Cosy Tents glamping villages across Australia for everyone to enjoy.
