Who wouldn’t love to party it up in a giant tipi? Tipi Luxe is a Queensland based company providing Enchanting Giant Tipi Marquees for any celebratory occasion. Here we had the opportunity to ask owner Emma about how the business came about and her vision for the future.
When did the fascination with tipis begin?
Our fascination with tipis began whilst helping my gorgeous brother, entrepreneur Nick Broadhurst and his beautiful fiancé Melissa Ambrosini – author, speaker, presenter and self-love coach extraordinaire - plan their wedding. Nick and Melissa live an organic, authentic lifestyle and it was important to them that their “Love Fest” embodied these principles. Giant Nordic tipis, with their gorgeous natural Spruce timber framework, earthy coloured canopy and soaring 7m ceilings at the peak proved the perfect fit, providing a magical setting for the beginning of their new lives together. It was at this moment that we became absolutely entranced by the tipis and the amazing space they offered people hosting outdoor events!
How long have you been running the business for and do you have a business partner, what is your team like, the vibe?
We are relative newcomers to the tipi marquee scene, having only recently established Tipi Luxe. We are a small family run business, I look after the enquiries and bookings and my husband is in charge of the field operations (or, as we like to giggle about, the erection side of things). We love our new business and the joy and excitement our tipis add to people’s special events. Our team’s vibe is definitely all about caring for our clients and showing great passion for our product!
What has been the most challenging part of starting the business?
The most challenging part of starting the business was raising the capital to buy the infrastructure. Our giant Nordic tipis and their associated accessories are a premium product with a price tag to match!
What do you love about your job?
I love the excitement and happiness associated with helping people plan their special celebrations, whether it is a wedding, party, festival or corporate event. It gives me great joy knowing that I have had a part to play in creating an unforgettable moment in their lives.
What plans do you have for the future for your business?
My husband and I look forward to expanding our range of tipi hire products and accessories. However, our ultimate goal is to continue to build Tipi Luxe’s reputation as a company with heart and one that embodies the highest standards of service and quality.
